Are you one of those people who love their garden but can't make the time to keep it looking nice? We can help! We offer a wide range of gardening and garden maintenance services throughout New Zealand. Our Franchisees are fully trained, insured and security cleared for your peace of mind.
Even if you like to garden yourself, if you let your local V.I.P. Franchisee do the hard work, you'll find yourself doing the things you enjoy in your garden. Planting and tending and caring for your precious plants, rather than just trying to keep on top of the weeds and never catching up.
Weeding seems never-ending. They grow as fast as you pull them, which tempts some people to let rip with the roundup. Now, there are situations where spraying weed-killer is the best option, but it can have an effect on the soil and the surrounding plant environment. We generally recommend hand pulling weeds in garden beds once they are 4 or 5 cm high, although regular tilling of the surface, perhaps with a Niwashi garden tool, is an option worth considering. Weeds are great in your compost or we can dispose of them for you.
Many weeds are also edible. That's an interesting thought! Some people can't bear to get rid of most weeds and use them in salads, smoothies, soups, and baking. Weeds actually only ever appear in any quantity in bare, tilled soil. That's because they have a particular job in nature and that is to prepare the soil for the succeeding plant by drawing up minerals, breaking down the soil, increasing microbial activity and the likes. They are not all bad as some would have us believe!
However, we understand if you just want rid of them. They can make your garden beds look unkempt and, if that's not what you want, we'll put it right for you. That's what we do.
What about planting? Your local V.I.P. Franchisee can help with that, too. Even recommending and providing new plants for you! Or maybe you like to shop and already have a bunch of plants needing planting. Let us know where you want them and we can take care of the rest. Staked or not? Slow release fertilizer pills? Just let us know and leave it in our hands.
